Below are two types of architectures (Type 1 and Type 2 ) of our Intranet-based Management System which can be considered as a "playground" for using it in the development . Both pictures are simplified for clarity purposes. For example. it is assumed that an E-Mail service is a part of Browser Client, Database might be implemented as multiple Database engines serving as a single RDBMS, each Agent (as well as a Manager) if needed might control it's own local subnet , also there are other controlled equipment on the local subnets which are controlled by the system, etc. . Due to the similarities between functionality of the Manager and Agent, interfaces to the networks and to the database, - we have built our Blansh Technologies Server which has all the elements needed for both types, but each server is run-time configurable depending on the role in the system.
In each of the Intranet types Browser based client logs into the Manager provided login name and a password. Connection is established over the Internet therefore allowing any browser/platform to be a client to the system. Database is accessed through URL over TCP connection deeming it possible to place it remotely anywhere on the internet . In such case firewall is to be built for the stand-alone Database. In our Reference Implementation we run Database in the Manager server therefore utilizing the same Manager Server's firewall for both. Again it is only in order to simplify architecture we show only one Database. The implementation of the Blansh Server allows accessing multiple Databases maintained by the client's system. In both Intranet types Agent Server controls the local subnet, or controlled equipment or any proprietary managed resources where Agent alone has the access to.
The only difference between the two types of the Intranet is that in type 2 Manager Server is the only one server in the system opened to the Internet or to VPN. In the type 1 all the servers are connected to each other via Internet therefore requiring a firewall to be built in each of them and also to incorporate other application-related protection measures. Our Blansh Server, which is a core element of any System we build, has a built-in firewall allowing both shown Intranet types.
