        Intranet-based Production Line Management

IP-network capable Production Line and Packaging Robots can be controlled by our Agent Servers. This allows easy application of our Reference Implementation Framework to control a Manufacturing Facility.

Browser Web-based GUI screens and a secure transactions between IP-capable Robots and our Agent Server, ensure simple unified way to automatically update database records upon the event notifications issued from the Production line robots or from the packaging robots, as well as automatic notifications sent to the operator to broadcast this event. Such information as records of the available manufacturing equipment, location of the manufacturing facilities, location of the warehouses where parts are stocked are all part of the managed enterprise-wide database records. Also the information on the specific equipment parameters and manufacturing process modes and parameters are maintained and controlled in the local Databases by the Agent Servers.

We have to note here that Browser-based control is the most popular way to access the enterprise resources and this is a reason why we choose it in our Reference Implementation System. But, if needed we can replace it with Application Java-based GUI interface. This might be more desirable if, for example, all the controlled manufacturing system is connected to one LAN.

* Note: The only condition to the ability to connect the existing manufacturing equipment to our Management System is the availability of IP-based network connection provided by such equipment itself or by the third party.

Overview of such system (example) depicted on the picture below.

Manager Server controls the enterprise-wide persistent data through it's Database Manager. Two groups of scenarios are implemented in the Manager : those which originate from the Operator's Management GUI and those originated from the Agent Servers.

Agent Server interfaces with production line equipment, provides equipment's registration with the System during a start-up, updates Database records and provides persistent data information from the Database to the manufacturing equipment during the boot process. Up-stream notifications to the Web-based operator are generated by the Agent Server to notify about registered events.

Our Framework contains all the library code necessary to interface with any TCP/IP-capable equipment, such as robots, sensors, etc. and provides a framework for the persistent data modeling.
