Tools We Choose Tools chosen for our Blansh Server and for the development are based on the principles outlined in the Our philosophy: Right Tools. They guarantee portability, flexibility and strong support from the tools vendors. Below are listed only those tools which were chosen as the main for our development and deployment.
Although any application servers may be used for a particular Intranet Management System we base our Reference Implementation on Our Blansh Server which is built on the Linux Server. It provides reliable platform backed by the industry especially rich in the network oriented services. Our OOA and OOD tool is StructureBuilder used for UML Modeling from Tendril. Also MagicDraw was used as UML modeling tool. Web Server powered by the most popular server Apache/Tomcat. Connection to the Manager Server from the Browser GUI implemented with Jserv Servlet engine.
All the code for the Manager and Agent Servers written in Java language using SUN's JDK Java Development Kit. Also J2EE packages used where needed. Front end Browser GUI written as Java Applet using SUN's Swing/JFC package. Servers code development done with Netbeans: one of the prime cross-platform Integrated Development Environment for the fast Java development including Swing-based GUI screens development.
Database connections are implemented using SUN's JDBC database drivers. Since there are JDBC drivers for all widely used databases, Framework is opened to work with any legacy database. In our reference Implementation we use MySQL database as it gave us the fastest response time desirable for real time Broadband Network Control System.
All the documentation including the page you are reading right now created using OpenOffice.org Open Source Office Suite tools.
